Sword and pot plant land man in jail

Swinging a sword and potted pot landed a Watertown man in jail early Saturday.

Watertown police arrested Scott M. Phillips, 42, of 206 Franklin Street, apt 412 at about 2:45 a.m. Saturday when officers were called to investigate a report of a man who had swung a sword at two people in the building.

According to investigators, Phillips was found in possession of a sword and a potted marijuana plant was found on a window sill in his apartment.

Officers charged Phillips with Menacing 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Growing Cannabis.

Phillips was transported to the PSB and held for arraignment in Town of Watertown Court.
