Watertown -- The puck will drop on professional hockey in the City of Watertown this evening.
Tonight marks both the season and home opener for the Thousand Islands Privateers. The team has spent the past couple of seasons in Alexandria Bay, but problems with their home arena there, the Bonnie Castle Rec Center, led to the team looking for a new home. An agreement was made during the summer to bring to the team to the Fairgrounds Ice Arena. The team will host the Cape Cod Bluefins at 7:30 tonight at the arena.
Ticket prices will be $12 for adults with discounts for military, seniors, and children.
