The race for State Senate in the North Country is officially underway this election year. Republican Senator Patty Ritchie is running for a second term, and she faces a challenge from Oswego County. Democrat Amy Tresidder made stops in various parts of the 48th District Thursday to officially announce her candidacy. The fifty six year old is a St. Lawrence County native and is currently serving her second term on the Oswego County Legislature. Tresidder criticized Ritchie during her campaign stops, saying the freshman legislator has not kept her promises to the residents of the district.
