Watertown – You can’t spell fund raiser without “fun” and that’s just what you’ll find this Saturday night at the NYS Zoo at Thompson Park.
The Zoo will be hosting its annual, “adults only”, Bobcats, Bears and Brews event. The evening kicks off at 5:30 and features nearly 40 different craft beers as well as wine, delicious food and live music.
“This event is already becoming the premier beer tasting event in the North Country.” Said Zoo Executive Director John Wright, “Not only do we hope to let our guests sample the variety of flavors from area brewers and distributors, but we hope to educate our guests about the brewing process and efforts made to create craft beers. This venue will also allow us to educate our older guests about the animals since they will be out as well.”
Wright says the event gets bigger each year and he and the Zoo Staff are prepared for another big turnout at the Zoo this Saturday night. Last year’s Bobcats Bears and Brews saw well over 300 people in attendance and Wright told myABC50.com he is hoping to have around 400 people at this year’s event.
