Three Mile Bay home damaged by fire

A Sunday evening fire did extensive damage to a home in Three Mile Bay in the Jefferson County Town of Lyme.

The fire broke out about 7 p.m. at 8545 Route 12E, just two doors down from the Three Mile Bay Fire Department.

Chaumont and Cape Vincent firefighters also responded to the scene.

No one was injured but a dog and at least 10 cats were killed in the blaze, according to The Watertown Daily Times.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The names of residents of the home was unavailable.
