Rutland -- A four hour long stand off in the Town of Rutland Tuesday night ended with one man in custody.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department says it was called to a home on the Andrews Rd. to check on the welfare of 37 year old Robert Brady. Brady allegedly fired several rounds from a shotgun and rifle at approaching deputies. He was eventually taken into custody and is charged with menacing a police officer, third degree criminal possession of a weapon, and first degree reckless endangerment.

Brady is due to be arraigned in Town of Champion Court.
