Two Watertown men arrested following investigation of several local burglaries

Watertown -- A state corrections officer is among two Watertown men under arrest on allegations that they were involved in a string of burglaries within Jefferson County. 

State Police say the charges stem from a joint investigation into recent local burglaries and larcenies that occurred at businesses and building sites. That investigation led to the arrest of 30 year old Jedadiah Romeo. He is facing two counts of third degree burglary. He was arraigned and ordered held to the county jail. A search warrant was then issued at the property and house under construction belonging to 35 year old Aaron Netto on County Route 159.

Police say the found stolen property with was confirmed stolen from the local burglaries. Police allege that Netto, who is an employee of the State Department of Corrections, knowingly possessed stolen property. It's further alleged that he engaged in the buying and selling of stolen property. He is charged with third degree criminal possession of stolen property. He was arraigned and released after posting bail.

Police say their investigation is ongoing and further arrests are likely.
