Watertown/Fort Drum -- Another National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is scheduled for this Saturday with 2 locations set up to assist North Country residents in disposing of unused medications.

The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is a great opportunity for people to get rid of unwanted and unused prescription drugs in a safe way.

The 2 locations chosen for this weekend are:

  • Kinney Drugs, 905 Coffeen Street in Watertown

  • the Post Exchange Bldg P-10730A/B Enduring Freedom Drive on Post at Fort Drum

According to the DEA, after four previous Take-Back days, people across the U.S. turned in more than 774 tons of medication.

If you can’t participate in the take-back program, the State Department of Environmental Conservation reminds you not to flush unused drugs if possible.
