A nurse supervisor working at Samaritan Medical Center has been arrested for obtaining controlled substances by making false automated dispensing records.
State Police in Watertown arrested John F. Murphy, 40, of Lafargeville, after the New York State Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement, who initiated the preliminary investigation into a complaint received from Samaritan Medical Center, contacted them.
The report stated that between May and June of this year, Murphy intentionally made false automated dispensing records and medical administration records at the hospital to illegally obtain controlled substances from the hospital.
Murphy is charged with Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance in the 3rd, a class B felony and Falsifying Business Records in the 1st, a class E Felony.
Murphy has been arraigned in the Town of Le Ray Court, remanded to Jefferson County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.
Murphy is scheduled to reappear in court at a later date pending grand jury actions.
