She's not going away quietly.
The now former executive director of the Jefferson County SPCA is speaking out on her recent firing.
In a public letter, Peggy Hinz says her professional reputation has been tarnished by what she says has been incorrect information given to the community by the SPCA board. In her letter, Hinz says she was fired due to her questioning some of the financial practices of the SPCA and for opposing what she called the board's "blatant disregard for proper and safe adoption of animals in our care."
She also accuses the board of ordering her to breach a contract with Ft. Drum, which Hinz argues would have caused serious harm to animals and likely would have caused a breach of contract suit.
In a press release earlier this week, the board said Hinz was fired after six months on the job for under performing on the job.
