Cape Vincent -- A vehicle rolling off of Horne's Ferry into the St. Lawrence River began a series of incidents Tuesday that included the ferry owner being taken to the hospital with a heart attack.

The ferry was on it's way to Wolf Island at around 2:15 pm yesterday when a minivan rolled off the boat and into the water. No one was inside the vehicle at the time. It's believed the van was parked in neutral gear, which allowed it to roll off. As crews scrambled to keep the vehicle from going completely in the water, the ferry owner suffered an apparent heart attack.

George Horne was taken to Samaritan Medical Center. There is no word on his condition. The ferry and the minivan were both towed back to shore.
