Watertown International Airport could benefit from airline merger

Watertown (WTNY) -- The merger of American Airlines and US Airways may be beneficial to both Watertown and Syracuse airports.

American Airlines subsidiary American Eagle already has flights to Chicago running out of the Watertown International Airport and the merger could allow for more destinations to be added US Airways already has a presence at Hancock airport while American doesn't. The $11 billion deal creates the world's largest air carrier.

The combined company will fly under the American Airlines banner.
