Watertown man arrested on several charges including, Robbery, Burglary and Criminal Possession of a Weapon

Town of Leray -- On November 6th, The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department arrested 23 Jaquenton Deon Simmons of Watertown on several charges including, Robbery, Burglary, Harassment, Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

It's alleged that on October 21st, Simmons forcibly entered the home of Richard Woodard II in the Town of Leray and displayed what appeared to be a handgun. Simmons then stole property from Mr. Woodard.

Police say over the following weeks after the robbery, Simmons sent text messages to Mr. Woodard threatening to cause him or his family harm.

Simmons was arraigned in the Town of Brownville Court and remanded to the Jefferson County Jail on $50,000 bail.

Sheriff's Deputies say their investigation is continuing.
