A Watertown man who admitted stealing union funds will serve a year in federal prison and must repay $47,865.
Norman Stefanik, 52, was sentenced today in federal court in Albany.
He admitted embezzling funds from Steelworkers Local 1450 when he was its treasurer.
Authorities say Stefanik misappropriated the money by not depositing money from soda bottle redemptions and by writing checks for cash.
