Watertown -- The continuing saga of the Woolworth Building in Downtown Watertown continues. The building has a new owner.

The news came Thursday that developer Michael Treanor has agreed to sell the building to David Gallo and his firm. City officials met with the soon-to-be owner yesterday to go over his plans for the building. Development of the historic downtown structure has stalled in recent years. Treanor initially wanted to turn the building into a high end hotel. When that didn't happen, plans were put into place to turn the building into apartments.

Mayor Jeff Graham says Gallo will brief the City Council on his development plans at a meeting later this month. Graham went on to say that Gallo apparently does not want the city's bus stop next to the building moved, something that Treanor had sought.
