Wayne Oxley plans on filing a 13 million dollar lawsuit
Wayne Oxley plans on filing a lawsuit connected to his time behind bars for a crime that the legal system says he did not commit.
Oxley has announced plans to file the suit against New York State seeking more than $13 million in damages. Oxley served a couple of years in state prison after initially being convicted of murdering Ogdensburg resident Bernard Trickey Jr. in 2005.
That conviction was later thrown out by an appellate court, which ordered a second trial. After a second trial led to a hung jury, Oxley was eventually acquitted in a third trial.
