A West Carthage man charged by State Police last month with rape is now facing additional charges for similar crimes that occurred in the town of Denmark.
35-year-old Ronald R. Ward of Champion Street was arrested March 6th and charged with rape, criminal sex act, disseminating indecent material to a minor, unlawfully dealing with a child and endangering the welfare of a child. It was alleged that Ward had sex with a 16-year-old girl in the Village of West Carthage, sent her nude photos of himself via cell phone, and gave her alcohol.
Ward, who is currently being held at the Jefferson County Public Safety Building, was arraigned in Town of Lowville Court this morning on three counts of 3rd degree Rape and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child for crimes involving the same girl that occurred last summer in the town of Denmark.
Ward was sent back to jail in lieu of $1,500 bail to await grand jury action.
