Northern New York (WSYR-TV) -- This morning’s rain was the result of a cold front that passed through the area. Now that the front has moved through, the chilly and dry air is rushing in. With clear skies and light northwest winds, temperatures tonight should drop into the 20s across much of the area. This will be the first widespread freeze, and will likely end the growing season.
Sunny skies will help to warm things up a tad on Saturday afternoon. Most of the day will be dry, but showers arrive in the evening. Rain should continue through midday Sunday as a warm front lifts to the north, bringing temperatures back towards the mid and high 60s to finish the weekend.
