Gouverneur -- Work will need to be done on the grandstand at the Gouverneur Fairgrounds after the high winds associated with Sandy came through Monday night.

The roof over the grandstand was heavily damaged as a result of the winds and will likely have to be replaced. Fair officials met with contractors on Tuesday to go over the damage and look at their options. In Sandy related news, National Grid Crews spent the day Tuesday restoring power to those who lost it as a result of the storm Monday night.

Residents in Ogdensburg were without power for a period of time Tuesday, but it had nothing to do with the weather.
A squirrel is being blamed for causing problems to a transformer that knocked out power to about 5 thousand residents.
