Woman killed in bicycle accident

A 68-year old Pennsylvania woman was killed in a bicycle accident Wednesday afternoon in Jefferson County.

State Police say Carolyn L. Wasson was found unconscious at the bottom of a slight grade and curve along County Route 1 in the town of Alexandria.

She was taken to Samaritan Medical Center in critical condition with severe face and head trauma. Wasson died at the hospital early Thursday morning.

Investigators say that Ms. Wasson wasn't wearing a helmet when she lost control of her bike.

The Chalfont, Pennsylvania resident was vacationing in the area at a local retreat, according to police.
