Watertown— The Greater Watertown North Country Chamber of Commerce held their annual Workforce 2020 Career Fair today at Jefferson Community College.
Approximately, 1,500 North Country students from sixteen school districts participated in this year’s fair. The G.W.N.C. Chamber of Commerce selected 100 businesses from a variety of different fields to interview students.
Teachers, from participating schools, instructed students on resume writing and interviewing skills. Students gained valuable experience, having the opportunity to practice interviewing for a job. While most of the businesses keep students resumes on file until for the future, some students actually get hired.
The Workforce 2020 Career Fair gave area high school students interviewing experience, and equally hoped to maintain some of the students in the area after high school. JCIDA, Samaritan Medical Center and North Country Human Resources Association sponsored the event.
