Zoo hopes Aviary project can finally take flight
Watertown (Nathan Lehamn WTNY) -- Watertown City Council members will get to see the final plans for the aviary project at the New York State Zoo at Thompson Park at tonight's meeting.
Those plans are scheduled to be a part of a work session this evening. The city is looking to turn the aviary into a learning center at the zoo.
A previous design was rejected by the council last fall, citing the high costs involved. After going back to the drawing board, the cost of the project now comes in at around a reported $340,000.
