Recap: Bradley vs. Missouri State
Peoria, IL (Sports Network) - Walt Lemon Jr. hit a 3-pointer as time expired to lift the Bradley Braves to a 69-66 win over the Missouri State Bears in a Missouri Valley Conference showdown at Carver Arena.
Lemon Jr. scored 20 points to lead Bradley (12-7, 4-3 MVC) while Dyricus Simms-Edwards added 17 points. Will Egolf netted 11 points as Bradley has won back-to-back games after three straight losses.
Gavin Thurman, Anthony Downing and Marcus Marshall all scored 13 points to lead the Bears (5-14, 3-4), who outrebounded Bradley 33-25 in defeat.
Bradley led 35-20 at halftime after shooting 52 percent from the field while holding Missouri State to 28.6 percent.
Bradley led 63-53 with 3:57 remaining when MSU went on a 13-3 run and tied the game on a Downing layup with three seconds remaining, setting up Lemon Jr.'s heroics.
Despite the loss, Missouri State still leads the all-time series, 30-18.
