Recap: Miami vs. Washington
Jupiter, FL (Sports Network) - Placido Polanco drove in two with a go-ahead single in the seventh and the Miami Marlins downed the Washington Nationals, 8-5, in Tuesday's spring training action.
Giancarlo Stanton contributed a pair of solo homers, while Chris Coghlan clubbed a two-run shot. Justin Ruggiano and Chris Valaika each had an RBI in the victory.
Mike Dunn picked up the win with two innings of one-run ball. Henderson Alvarez allowed four runs -- although only one was earned -- and struck out seven over five innings in the start for Miami.
Washington starter Dan Haren was tagged for five runs over six innings. Roger Bernadina went 2-for-2 with a solo homer and scored twice while Bryce Harper also supplied two hits with an RBI in the setback.
