Miami, FL (Sports Network) - The Miami Marlins signed pitcher Jon Rauch to a one-year contract on Tuesday.

Rauch spent last season with the New York Mets, pitching to a 3-7 record with a 3.59 ERA and four saves in 73 relief appearances.

The 34-year-old right-hander has appeared in 541 career games, including 11 starts, over 10 seasons with the White Sox, Expos/Nationals, Diamondbacks, Twins, Blue Jays and Mets.

He has a 42-38 career record with a 3.80 earned run average and 62 saves.

To make room on the roster, Miami designated outfielder Bryan Petersen for assignment.
